A TikTok video featuring House Democrats as video game characters draws widespread mockery from conservatives, sparking debate and criticism over their playful social media strategy.

A TikTok video featuring several House Democrats has sparked a wildfire of reactions online, predominantly from conservative voices who wasted no time mocking the clip as "cringe." The video, styled as a "choose your fighter" parody, showcased Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jasmine Crockett, Lauren Underwood, Katherine Clark, Judy Chu, and Susie Lee posing as video game characters, complete with their "attributes" highlighted.

The video, posted by influencer Jessica Woo, shows the congresswomen bouncing in fighting stances, seemingly trying to channel some kind of playful energy. But judging by the reactions, the attempt landed more like a belly flop than a backflip. Conservatives on social media were quick to point out what they saw as an embarrassing and tone-deaf performance by the lawmakers, especially coming on the heels of their controversial behavior during former President Trump’s recent address to Congress.

One of the sharpest jabs came from the White House rapid response social media account, which posted, "Democrats Not Be Cringe Challenge. Level: Impossible." Fox News contributor Joe Concha joined the commentary, saying, "It’s as if the party is trying to implode itself…" Ouch.

Other critics didn’t hold back either. Conservative commentator Ryan James Girdusky quipped, "There are just some people who don’t have anyone in their lives willing to tell them to stop," while American Majority CEO Ned Ryun remarked, "As if they couldn’t get any lamer. . . Hold my beer and watch me release a stupid loser video and prove I’m even lamer than you thought!!"

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene took the criticism a step further, tying the video to broader political grievances. "Trump Deranged Democrats release ‘choose your fighter skit’ after refusing to stand and clap for a child with cancer during President Trump’s address to Congress," she posted. "Democrats have sunk so low that I’m actually starting to feel sorry for them. Pitiful." Strong words, even for her.

Meanwhile, Tim Murtaugh, a former senior advisor to Trump’s campaign, added his voice to the pile-on, asking, "My God, who is advising the Democrats?" GOP Rep. Virginia Foxx chimed in with a snarky game-show reference: "I’ll take ‘Reasons why Democrats are not in the majority’ for $1,000."

For all the roasting, one critic, communications strategist Erica Knight, did manage to find a silver lining—albeit a backhanded one. "But at least they like American flags again," she noted.

Fox News Digital reached out to all six House Democrats involved in the video for comment, but as of now, there’s radio silence from their side.

This is a classic example of how trying to connect with younger audiences on social media can backfire spectacularly if it’s not done right. It’s one thing to be playful, but when you’re lawmakers, the bar is a bit higher. The 'choose your fighter' parody feels like a swing and a miss, and the internet is merciless with that kind of thing. Maybe next time, consult someone under 30—or literally anyone with a sense of humor.
