Tempers flare again after Karmelo Anthony’s family rep targets Austin Metcalf’s father. Both families detail grief and threats as calls for justice persist.

The fallout continues in Texas after Dominique Alexander, spokesperson for the family of Karmelo Anthony—the teen accused of fatally stabbing high school track star Austin Metcalf—launched another round of pointed attacks against Metcalf's father, Jeff, on social media late Monday.

The tension started at an April 17 news conference, which quickly spiraled into chaos when Jeff Metcalf was escorted out by police. Alexander didn't mince words, calling Jeff "disrespectful" and saying his presence dishonored his own son. And if you thought that was the end of it, think again: Alexander doubled down in a video Monday night, insisting his group never called the police and that officers were already at the scene before Jeff arrived.

Alexander was adamant: "This press conference wasn't organized by him. This press conference wasn't about him. This press conference didn't invite him. Yet at the end of the day, it's a criminal case, y'all." He argued further, "It's literally inappropriate...for that family to interact, and we don't know what we don't know," emphasizing that anyone showing up uninvited could pose safety risks.

Despite his aggressive stance, Alexander did acknowledge his own grief, having lost a son himself, and claimed he felt for Jeff Metcalf. The press conference, intended to give the Anthony family a voice after the killing, took a backseat as Alexander vented about online critics, mugshots from his past, and accusations of insensitivity. He brushed off the haters, saying their attacks "only do one thing: boost my ego." There's confidence, and then there's Alexander-level confidence.

As for the drama at the news conference, Alexander insisted he didn't realize Metcalf was in attendance until a media member tipped him off. Security then asked Metcalf to move back, which escalated tensions and ultimately resulted in his removal. Alexander questioned, "How do we know what he came here for?"

Jeff Metcalf shot back, undeterred: "I don't allow [Alexander] to live rent free in my mind. It really doesn't matter about the lies this man spreads. He just wants more attention. Don't give it to him. Justice will prevail."

The Metcalf and Anthony families remain at the center of this storm. Anthony's mother, Kayla Hayes, read a statement expressing her family's distress, describing threats, harassment, and the exposure of their home address online. She painted a picture of a family shaken to the core, with her husband forced to take a leave of absence and her daughter afraid to sleep alone.

Alexander, before wrapping up, turned to race and compared Karmelo Anthony's treatment to high-profile cases like Kyle Rittenhouse and Daniel Penny, arguing for equal rights in the eyes of the law.

Neither Jeff Metcalf nor the Dallas Police chose to comment further, but Jeff previously reflected on his son's death: "Austin, who died in his twin brother's arms, was the light of my life." He added that forgiveness is for his own peace, even as both families' lives are forever altered. In a saga filled with pain, public sparring, and plenty of social media heat, one thing is clear: justice and healing are still a long way off for everyone involved.
