Brief

Tim Tebow and Sen. Marco Rubio meet President Trump in D.C., support the Renewed Hope Act, and celebrate Florida Gators basketball as Tebow announces he's expecting a baby girl.

It's a week of big moves for the University of Florida, as their men's basketball team preps for the Final Four in San Antonio. Adding a touch of star power to the buzz, two of the school's most famous alumni had a noteworthy meeting in Washington, D.C.

Tim Tebow and his wife, Demi-Leigh, stopped by the Oval Office to meet with President Donald Trump and Sen. Marco Rubio, another fellow Gator alum. The Tebows and Rubio even showcased the iconic "Gator Chomp" pose while standing behind the president. Now that's how you represent your alma mater in style!

Tebow, no stranger to Capitol Hill, made headlines last year after traveling to D.C. to advocate for the Renewed Hope Act. This legislation aims to strengthen the Department of Homeland Security’s ability to identify and rescue victims of online child sexual exploitation while holding offenders accountable. Tebow, through his foundation, has collaborated with Homeland Security Investigations on missions to combat child sexual abuse—a cause he has passionately championed.

The former Heisman Trophy winner joined a bipartisan group of lawmakers, including senators John Cornyn and Richard Blumenthal, and representatives Laurel Lee and Debbie Wasserman Schultz, to support the act. Talk about using your platform for real change.

In other exciting news for the Tebow family, Tim and Demi-Leigh are expecting a baby girl later this year—a new kind of "team member" for the Tebows!

Let’s be honest, the visual of Tebow, Rubio, and Trump doing the Gator Chomp together feels like something straight out of a political sitcom. But props to Tebow for continuing to use his fame for serious causes like combating child exploitation. That’s the kind of off-the-field play that deserves a standing ovation.
