Travis Kelce expresses frustration over the Chiefs’ Week 1 game in Brazil’s heat, vows to secure a win despite tough conditions.

The Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up to face the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil, for their Week 1 matchup, marking the NFL’s second consecutive year hosting a game in South America. Travis Kelce, the Chiefs’ star tight end, isn’t exactly thrilled about the trip. On his "New Heights" podcast, Kelce confirmed the game and aired his concerns about playing in Brazil’s heat.

“We’re definitely playing in Brazil,” Kelce said with a grin, adding, “I’ll be there, playing football, in the f---ing heat.” His brother, Jason Kelce, chimed in, recalling the “atrocious” field conditions during last season’s Eagles-Packers game in Brazil. Travis couldn’t resist a playful jab, mocking complaints about slippery fields and referencing the Eagles’ Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs in Arizona.

Kelce’s main gripe? The equatorial climate. “There’s just something about getting closer to the equator. I don’t want to put on a football uniform doing that,” he said, comparing it to sweltering games in Jacksonville. When told São Paulo is inland, he quipped, “I’d rather be dry than humid. If it’s hot and humid, I’m gonna be miserable.” Still, he’s determined to push through: “We’re going to find a way to get a win.”

The Chiefs, coming off a stellar 15-2 season and their third straight Super Bowl appearance, face a new challenge in Brazil’s unique conditions. Meanwhile, the Eagles, who bested Kansas City last season, loom as a reminder of the competition’s intensity.
