Trump slams Putin for massive Ukraine strike, criticizes Zelenskyy’s rhetoric, as Russia’s largest aerial assault kills 12, injures dozens in Kyiv.
President Donald Trump didn’t mince words Sunday, slamming Russian President Vladimir Putin for a massive aerial assault on Ukraine that left Kyiv reeling. Speaking to reporters at Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey, Trump expressed deep frustration, stating, "I’m not happy with what Putin is doing. He’s killing a lot of people, sending rockets into cities like Kyiv." The attack, described as the largest of the ongoing war, involved 298 drones and 69 missiles, claiming at least 12 lives and injuring dozens.
Trump, reflecting on his past interactions with Putin, remarked, "I’ve known him a long time, always got along, but something’s changed. He’s gone absolutely crazy." His comments came as Russian forces targeted Ukrainian cities during what were supposed to be peace negotiations, a move Trump called out as particularly egregious. "Shooting rockets in the middle of talks? I don’t like it, not even a little bit," he said.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy took to Telegram, urging the world to break its silence and impose new sanctions on Russia. "Every such terrorist strike is reason enough," he wrote, pointing fingers at global inaction. Trump, however, didn’t spare Zelenskyy either, criticizing his rhetoric in a Truth Social post: "Everything out of his mouth causes problems. It better stop." He also claimed the war wouldn’t have happened under his watch, blaming Joe Biden, Putin, and Zelenskyy for the escalation.
The scale of the attack has raised alarms, with Trump warning that Putin’s ambitions for Ukraine could spell Russia’s downfall. "He wants all of it, not just a piece," Trump posted, hinting at broader geopolitical consequences. As the conflict intensifies, the world watches, wondering if diplomacy can outpace destruction.

Putin’s launching drones like he’s playing a real-life video game, but the only ‘game over’ here is for peace talks. And Zelenskyy’s Telegram rants? Sounds like he’s auditioning for a war movie sequel nobody asked for. Trump’s right to call this a mess—just wish he’d stop trying to referee a fight he says he could’ve prevented. Maybe next he’ll suggest a cage match in Kyiv to settle it.
