Trump celebrates U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, pushes NATO defense spending, and fights for his tax bill in a busy 23rd week.
President Donald Trump has been basking in the glow of what he calls a triumphant U.S. military operation against Iran’s nuclear facilities, while also juggling international diplomacy and domestic policy pushes during a whirlwind 23rd week in office. On Saturday, over 125 U.S. aircraft executed precise strikes on key Iranian nuclear sites, a move Trump hailed as leaving the facilities "completely and totally obliterated." Yet, a leaked Defense Intelligence Agency report suggests the damage might be less severe, setting back Iran’s nuclear ambitions by mere months rather than years.
Trump, undeterred, doubled down on his stance, vowing to strike again if Iran dares to revive its nuclear program. The U.S., alongside Israel and even Iran’s own Foreign Ministry, acknowledged significant damage to the targeted sites, though the extent remains a point of contention.
Across the Atlantic, Trump attended the NATO summit in the Netherlands, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss brokering peace in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The summit saw a major win for Trump’s long-standing push for NATO allies to boost defense spending, with all but Spain committing to a 5% GDP target by 2035—a move that could reshape European security dynamics.
Back home, Trump is racing against time to pass what he calls a "big, beautiful" tax and domestic policy bill, which he touts as the cornerstone of his "Make America Great Again" agenda. Despite hitting a snag with Senate rules forcing the removal of certain Medicaid reforms, Trump remains adamant the bill must meet its July 4 deadline, even as some Republicans waver.

Trump’s claiming he turned Iran’s nuclear sites to dust, but the DIA report suggests it’s more like a bad haircut—set back, but it’ll grow back. Meanwhile, he’s got NATO spending more than a kid in a candy store and pushing a tax bill faster than you can say ‘MAGA.’ Why did Trump bring a sledgehammer to the NATO summit? Because he wanted to break the bank and the status quo!
