DOGE credits Donald Trump for initiating a major crackdown on Social Security fraud, revealing millions of noncitizens granted benefits and uncovering billions in fraudulent claims under Biden's administration.

The U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has credited former President Donald Trump with leading a bold initiative to tackle Social Security fraud, a move described as unprecedented by volunteers within the agency. Antonio Gracias, a DOGE volunteer, remarked on the "jaw-dropping" results during an appearance on "Fox & Friends."

"None of this would have happened without President Trump," Gracias said. He explained that Trump had signed an executive order allowing inter-agency database sharing, the first of its kind. "That allowed us to connect all this data, to find these people across the system, across the benefit system, all the way to the voting records. It really took a lot of courage," he added.

This collaboration, spearheaded by Elon Musk and his team, uncovered startling data. At a recent rally in Wisconsin, Musk and Gracias revealed that millions of noncitizens had received Social Security numbers during President Joe Biden's tenure. A chart presented at the event highlighted a steady increase in such cases, reaching over 2 million in fiscal year 2024 alone. The figures for FY23 and FY25 hovered around 1 million each.

Gracias outlined the scope of the fraud, explaining that over 5 million individuals who entered the country illegally were granted Social Security numbers. Many of these individuals subsequently accessed benefit programs, and some were even found on voter rolls in certain states, with thousands reportedly voting.

The revelations didn’t stop there. DOGE also confirmed that 1.3 million individuals using fraudulent Social Security numbers had received Medicare benefits. Gracias estimated the monetary impact of uncovering these frauds, stating, "It's in the billions. You saw the fraud on the phone lines itself—that was about $1.5 billion, and I would guess with Social Security already, we're north of $10 billion."

In another significant move, DOGE recently removed approximately 7 million Social Security accounts belonging to people listed as being over 120 years old. Their audits also revealed a shocking 20 million deceased individuals marked as alive in the database. Musk shared these findings during a town hall in Wisconsin, underscoring the scale of the cleanup effort.

While critics may view these numbers with skepticism, it’s hard to ignore the magnitude of the issues uncovered. Fraud of this scale not only strains government resources but also undermines public trust in vital systems like Social Security. Love or loathe Trump, this effort to streamline and expose inefficiencies is undeniably a bold move.

Okay, so inter-agency database sharing is apparently revolutionary enough to warrant applause, but can we pause to appreciate how the Social Security system managed to keep accounts for people who were supposedly 120 years old? That's not just fraud—it's a poorly written sci-fi plot. Kudos to DOGE for cleaning up this mess. Also, Musk inserting himself into a Social Security fraud investigation feels like an unexpected crossover episode.
