Donald Trump nominates Georgia State Senator Brandon Beach for U.S. Treasurer and Brent Bozell as Ambassador to South Africa, highlighting their leadership and conservative credentials.

Donald Trump has tapped Georgia State Senator Brandon Beach as his pick for the next U.S. Treasurer, sharing the announcement Wednesday night on Truth Social. Beach, a Republican from Georgia's District 21, is set to bring his years of legislative and business experience to the role, pending confirmation.

Trump praised Beach in his post, calling him a key player in securing a "Massive and Historic Victory" for the Republican movement in Georgia. He added that Beach's leadership in the Georgia State Senate since 2012 has been "incredible," and expressed confidence in Beach's ability to uphold fiscal responsibility and drive economic growth. In true Trump fashion, he also declared that Beach would help "unleash America’s Golden Age." A bold claim, as always.

Beach, a 63-year-old Louisiana native, has a well-decorated political and business background. A graduate of Centenary College of Louisiana State University and the Louisiana Frost School of Business, he was recognized as Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Legislator of the Year in 2017 and received the Emerging Leader Award from GOPAC Inc. in April 2023.

Beyond politics, Beach serves as the president and CEO of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce and the North Fulton Community Improvement District. Under his leadership, the district reportedly turned a $2 million investment into $30 million worth of infrastructure. That’s some impressive ROI if you ask me.

Beach also actively serves on various community boards, including the Regional Business Coalition, Grady Hospital Board of Visitors, and the Historic Roswell Convention and Visitors Bureau, among others. He resides in Alpharetta, Georgia, with his wife, Shuntel Paille Beach, and their two children.

The announcement of Beach's nomination wasn’t the only shake-up Trump revealed. He also named Brent Bozell as the U.S. Ambassador to South Africa. Bozell, best known as the founder of the Media Research Center (MRC), has made a career out of exposing what he calls "Fake News." Trump praised Bozell for his "fearless tenacity" and "vast knowledge," adding his trademark congratulations.

Bozell’s resume includes roles as president of the National Conservative Political Action Committee and chairman of ForAmerica, a group focused on restoring America to its founding principles. He is a father of five and grandfather to seventeen, which sounds like a full-time job in itself.

The Georgia Senate Press Office and Beach have yet to comment on the nomination, but with Trump’s endorsement, Beach may be gearing up for a potentially transformative role in the nation’s financial future. Stay tuned for what’s next—because with Trump, there’s always something.

Brandon Beach’s nomination feels like a calculated move to bolster Trump’s ties with Georgia, a state that’s been politically significant in recent elections. While Beach’s credentials are solid, the question is whether his business-heavy background will translate to the Treasury’s demands. Also, can we talk about Trump’s flair for hyperbole? 'Unleashing America’s Golden Age' is a tall order for any treasurer. Let’s just hope he has a golden calculator ready.
