Donald Trump endorses Sen. Lindsey Graham for re-election in 2026, praising his conservative record, while MAGA supporters show mixed reactions. Trump also backs other GOP lawmakers.
Former President Donald Trump has officially endorsed Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., for re-election, showering him with praise on Truth Social, calling him "a wonderful friend" and vouching for his commitment to the people of South Carolina. Graham, a long-serving senator with over two decades in office, will face the voters again in 2026.
Trump highlighted Graham's efforts on hot-button issues, noting his work as Chair of the Senate Budget Committee to "Grow the Economy, Lower Taxes, and Eliminate Government Waste." He also detailed Graham’s focus on securing the border, supporting veterans, advocating for energy dominance, and defending the Second Amendment, among other priorities.
With his characteristic flair, Trump declared, "Senator Lindsey Graham has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election — HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN." He also encouraged South Carolinians to back Graham for a "BIG WIN" next year.
However, the endorsement might not be an easy sell for some Trump supporters. In 2023, Graham faced boos from MAGA rally attendees in his home state. This chilly reception was repeated later that year when Trump brought up Graham’s name at another rally. The love-hate dynamics between Graham and the MAGA crowd seem to persist.
Senator Graham responded graciously to Trump’s endorsement, calling it "humbling." In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Graham lauded Trump for his historic political comeback and expressed pride in their friendship, adding that Trump is an "awesome golfing buddy" he has yet to beat. He also committed to pushing Trump’s agenda in the Senate to make America "more prosperous and more secure." Sounds like Graham is all in—both politically and on the golf course.
Trump didn’t stop at Graham; he also endorsed several other Republican lawmakers, including Sens. Bill Hagerty, Cindy Hyde-Smith, Cynthia Lummis, and Rep. John McGuire. It seems Trump’s endorsement spree is in full swing, with the former president playing kingmaker ahead of the next election cycle.

Trump’s endorsement of Lindsey Graham is no surprise, given their long-standing alliance. But let’s talk about Graham’s rocky relationship with the MAGA crowd—it’s like attending your own party and getting booed. This tug-of-war between loyalty and public sentiment highlights the delicate dance of politics. Maybe their shared love of golf will help smooth things over, or perhaps Graham’s commitment to Trump’s agenda will win back doubters. Either way, this endorsement feels more like a calculated move than a heartfelt shoutout.
