Only the U.S. can destroy Iran’s fortified Fordow nuclear site, as Israel’s strikes hit Natanz but lack the power to target Fordow’s deep defenses.

President Donald Trump remains tight-lipped on whether the U.S. will deploy its military might to neutralize Iran’s nuclear ambitions, but experts are clear: only America has the firepower to tackle Iran’s most fortified nuclear site, Fordow. Israel’s recent strikes on Iran, which began Thursday night, hit the Natanz facility, causing a direct impact on its underground structures, according to the U.N.’s nuclear watchdog. Yet, the damage’s full scope remains murky.

Fordow, however, was untouched. Buried up to 300 feet beneath mountain bedrock, this facility is Iran’s crown jewel of nuclear defiance, capable of producing a nuclear warhead in as little as two to three days, per the Institute for Science and International Security. Israel, despite its regional prowess, lacks the tools to crack Fordow’s defenses. "Destroying it from the air is a job only the U.S. can do," said Mark Dubowitz, CEO of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

Fordow’s fortifications demand more than just bombs. The U.S.’s 30,000-pound Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), a bunker-busting behemoth, might reach 200 feet underground, but even that may fall short. Pairing it with stealth B-2 Spirit bombers and precision intelligence is critical to avoid hitting decoys or merely scratching the surface. Israel’s F-35I Adirs and F-15I Ra’ams, while formidable, can’t deliver this level of destruction without U.S. support or unconventional tactics like sabotage.

Trump, ever the showman, took to Truth Social to boast about U.S. air superiority, claiming "complete and total control of the skies over Iran." He praised American-made tech, adding, "Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA." Yet, when pressed on direct U.S. involvement, he dodged, saying he "didn’t want to talk about it." His early exit from the G7 summit in Canada to address the Israel-Iran conflict hints at urgency, with Trump emphasizing a "real end" over a mere ceasefire.

Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon, speaking on Fox and Friends, confirmed ongoing Israeli airstrikes, boasting "impressive results on the ground." But he admitted Israel’s limitations as a small nation of 9 million against Iran’s 90 million. The U.S., with its unmatched arsenal, remains the key to dismantling Fordow and curbing Iran’s nuclear threat.

Fordow’s buried so deep, it’s like Iran’s nuclear program is playing hide-and-seek with the world—except the U.S. brought a bunker-busting bloodhound! Trump’s sky-bragging on Truth Social sounds like he’s ready to sell F-35s to the highest bidder, but dodging the ‘direct action’ question? That’s a diplomatic moonwalk worthy of Reagan himself.
