A whistleblower has exposed a staggering failure by the Biden administration, leaving thousands of migrant children vulnerable to human trafficking. Tara Rodas, a Health and Human Services insider, revealed that over 7,000 reports of child trafficking were ignored, ballooning the backlog to a shocking 65,000 cases. This is not just negligence; it’s a betrayal of the most vulnerable.

Rodas, speaking on a weekend broadcast, described a system where the rush to process migrant children led to many being placed with non-family sponsors, some of whom were outright criminals. In certain areas, less than 10% of these kids ended up with family members. She recounted her disillusionment, having joined the effort to place children in loving homes, only to discover they were being handed to traffickers and transnational criminal networks.

Rodas had raised alarms as early as 2023, warning Congress that the U.S. was acting as a 'middleman' in a sprawling trafficking operation. Children were recruited abroad, smuggled across the border, and placed with dangerous sponsors. The Biden administration’s policies, she argued, fueled this crisis.

Hope, however, is on the horizon. Rodas praised the Trump administration’s swift action, noting that in just four months, they’ve tackled 28% of the backlog. ‘They’re using every tool available to find these children,’ she said, expressing confidence in their resolve to undo the damage.

While the road ahead is long, the new administration’s commitment offers a glimmer of justice for these exploited children.
