Yellowstone-inspired baked beans recalled in 23 states due to undeclared soy allergen. No illnesses reported, but consumers urged to return affected cans for a refund.
Baked beans inspired by the hit series "Yellowstone" have been recalled after it was discovered they contained undeclared soy—a major no-no for anyone with allergies or a weakness for food label drama. Vietti Food Group, based in Nashville, Tennessee, is pulling back 4,515 cases of its 15-ounce Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans, according to the FDA.
The recall affects stores in 23 states, from Arizona to Virginia. So if you thought your can of Yellowstone beans was the only thing in your pantry with a wild side, think again. People with a soy allergy could face serious or even life-threatening reactions if they eat these beans, the company warned. Thankfully, no illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported so far—so it seems the beans' bark was worse than their bite.
The affected cans can be spotted by their best-if-used date of Feb. 17, 2028, printed right on the bottom. If you’ve bought a can, don’t just tip your hat and mosey on—return it to the store for a full refund. The recall only adds to the quirky legacy of "Yellowstone," the TV western that kept viewers glued for five seasons before riding off into the sunset last December. If only the beans had read the script a little closer.
Vietti Food Group didn’t have much to say beyond their announcement, but at least that means there’s less hot air in this story than in a can of beans. Stay safe, label readers!

Only in America can a TV show inspire beans—and only here can beans inspire a multi-state recall. Somewhere, Kevin Costner is probably grateful he stuck to ranching and left the canning to the professionals. Next time, maybe the beans should come with a plot twist: surprise ingredients disclosed upfront!
