DHS cracks down on criminal illegal aliens nationwide, arresting violent offenders amid rising assaults on ICE and heated political debate.
In a sweeping nationwide operation, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has put the spotlight on what they call the worst of the worst among criminal illegal aliens. Their latest statement reveals a crackdown that’s netted a significant number of offenders, with 70% of those arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) having been convicted or charged with serious crimes.
The arrests come amidst a storm of criticism over ICE’s enforcement tactics. Some political voices, like Rep. Delia Ramirez from Illinois, have accused the Trump administration of waging a campaign of fear, targeting not just criminals but anyone deemed undesirable. Ramirez went as far as suggesting this could extend to U.S. citizens, framing the policy as part of a broader, troubling agenda.
Yet, DHS stands firm, emphasizing that the majority of those apprehended have criminal records ranging from hit-and-run to aggravated assault and drug possession. Among the highlighted cases are individuals like Federico Fong-Nunez, a 53-year-old with 21 convictions, and Olinda Micaela Gonzalez-Ortiz, a 21-year-old convicted of hit-and-run. The list of offenses grows grimmer with arrests tied to child sex crimes and even a past airplane hijacking in Houston.
ICE’s operations have spanned cities like Los Angeles, Houston, and Baltimore, with a staggering 1,361 arrests in Houston alone last June. DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin praised the resolve of law enforcement, noting an alarming 830% surge in assaults against ICE officers. Despite this, she declared, their mission to protect Americans from violent criminals and drug traffickers remains unshaken.
This crackdown has reignited debates over immigration policy, enforcement priorities, and the balance between security and humanity. As tensions flare, one thing is clear: the battle over who gets to stay and who must go is far from over.

Well, folks, it seems ICE is playing a high-stakes game of 'Whack-a-Mole' with criminal illegal aliens, but with an 830% spike in assaults against them, they might need more than a mallet—maybe a suit of armor? And while Rep. Ramirez warns of a fascist agenda, I’m just wondering if the 'worst of the worst' are taking offense at being called out. I mean, with records like airplane hijacking, they’ve earned a frequent flyer badge, right?
