A chilling online threat is targeting kids, and parents need to know the warning signs. The FBI is investigating a sinister network called 764, a decentralized group of predators exploiting children on platforms like Roblox, Discord, TikTok, and Instagram. These criminals, tied to neo-Nazi and satanic ideologies, manipulate minors into producing violent or explicit content, often through coercion or fake online relationships.
Dr. Stephen Boyce, a former FBI forensic analyst, told WTFNewsRoom that the group, which emerged around 2021, uses psychological tactics like love bombing to trap victims. 'They exploit communication features on popular apps,' Boyce said, noting that predators use coded language and memes to hide their intent. The FBI is probing at least 250 cases across all 55 U.S. field offices, with the group’s reach now global.
What’s especially alarming is the group’s push for self-harm and even livestreamed suicide, treating these acts as perverse rites of passage. The original U.S.-based founder is serving an 80-year sentence, but the network has only grown. Yaron Litwin, CMO of Canopy Parental Control App, emphasized that screen time limits alone won’t cut it. 'Parents must stay vigilant, talk openly with kids about online safety, and enforce household rules,' he said.
Red flags include secrecy about device use, sudden romantic entanglements, unusual meme usage, or signs of self-harm. Parents should monitor app usage and watch for behavioral shifts like irritability or social withdrawal. 'Don’t panic, but act with care,' Litwin advised. Staying proactive could save lives.
