Brief
Two food recalls were issued in 24 hours for undeclared eggs: Whole Foods' Small Bites Macaroni & Cheese and Jinga Glass Noodles with Vegetables. No illnesses reported.
Two food products have been recalled within the last 24 hours due to undeclared eggs, as reported by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
First up: Small Bites Macaroni & Cheese packages, produced by C.H. Guenther & Son LLC from San Antonio, Texas, were recalled after a consumer complaint revealed these bites contained undeclared egg—and, oddly enough, meat ingredients. These were sold nationwide at Whole Foods Market locations and found in the frozen food aisles.
The product name is 365 Whole Foods Market Small Bites Macaroni & Cheese, with a UPC code of 99482499709 and a "best-by" date of 11/29/25. Customers who purchased this item between February 6 and March 11, 2025, should destroy it and bring a valid receipt to Whole Foods for a full refund.
Thankfully, no illnesses have been reported, and the company has taken steps to prevent future mishaps. But seriously, how does meat end up in macaroni bites? A labeling mystery for the ages.
Next on the recall roster: HAR Maspeth Corporation of New York pulled its "Jinga Glass Noodles with Vegetables (Japche)," packaged in 8-ounce and 12-ounce containers, for failing to declare egg on the label. These products were distributed to H Mart stores across multiple states.
The affected packaging has "best-by" dates ranging from March 13 to March 18, 2025, with UPC codes 265405006495, 267405004495, 266405008496, and 268405005499. Consumers allergic to eggs are advised to avoid these products due to the risk of serious allergic reactions.
No illnesses or reactions have been reported so far. The issue was flagged during a routine inspection by New York State's Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors, who discovered undeclared eggs lurking in the noodles. Eggs hiding in noodles? Sounds like the plot twist of a cooking reality show gone wrong.
Customers can return affected packages to their place of purchase for a full refund. And hey, let’s hope these companies keep their ingredient lists as clean as their kitchens going forward.
