New York Jets wide receiver Malachi Corley claims to have witnessed a UFO in Florida, sharing a video and details of the encounter amid a challenging rookie NFL season.
Malachi Corley, the wide receiver for the New York Jets, has added his name to the growing list of people claiming to have witnessed something truly out of this world—literally. During a recent trip to Florida, Corley took to social media to share details of a bizarre encounter with what he believes was a UFO.
Corley posted a video on X showing a glowing blue light behind clouds, claiming the object floated in the sky for over 30 minutes before disappearing without a trace. He wrote, "Say whatever you want. This object (UFO), was legitimately up in the sky for over 30 minutes. I watched it. I stopped watching for about 2 minutes and looked up—it was gone. No trace." Bold words for a guy used to dodging linebackers, not aliens.
Corley's NFL career so far has been a rocky ride. A standout player at Western Kentucky, where he led the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision in yards after catch from 2021-2023, he was drafted by the Jets in the third round last year. However, his rookie season didn’t exactly make headlines—unless you count his FaceTime introduction to quarterback Aaron Rodgers, which led to an invite to Rodgers' New Jersey mansion during training camp. On the field, though, Corley managed just 16 receiving yards all season, appearing in only three of the Jets' first seven games.
The Jets themselves have had their fair share of struggles, finishing last season with a dismal 5-12 record and extending their playoff drought to an agonizing 14 years. The team parted ways with head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas mid-season, handing the reins to interim coach Jeff Ulbrich, who managed just three wins in his stint. In January, Aaron Glenn, former defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions, was named the Jets’ new head coach.
While Corley’s claims of a UFO might not help the Jets break their playoff curse, it certainly adds a splash of intrigue to an otherwise forgettable season. Whether you believe him or not, it's clear Malachi Corley is comfortable navigating the strange—whether it's on the field or in the sky.

You've got to hand it to Malachi Corley—not every NFL player can turn a slow rookie season into cosmic-level entertainment. Between his UFO claims and his FaceTime with Aaron Rodgers, he knows how to keep people talking. Maybe the Jets should take notes; they could use some excitement these days!
