Legoland Florida and California are launching groundbreaking indoor roller coasters in 2026, marking their largest investment yet, alongside a new Sea Life Florida aquarium attraction.

Legoland Florida and Legoland California are about to redefine theme park thrills with the announcement of "first-of-its-kind" indoor roller coasters. This bold $90 million investment will mark the largest single in-park expenditure at these resorts, aiming to captivate families with children aged 2 to 12.

Merlin Entertainments CEO Fiona Eastwood expressed her excitement, stating, "As we prepare to unveil this exciting new attraction designed, co-created, and imagined by the amazing creative team at the Lego Group and the unmatched talent of our Merlin Magic Makers, we hope the mystery and anticipation adds to awesome thrills to come." She added the coasters are "unparalleled" for Legoland, promising to embrace Lego's signature creativity and cutting-edge technology. Honestly, it's hard not to get hyped when someone throws around words like 'unparalleled' and 'new heights.'

The rides are slated to debut in 2026, with construction well underway. At the Florida resort, 2,000 anchor bolts have been installed, 220 tons of rebar are in place, and around 300 truckloads of concrete have already been poured. Photos of the site reveal a massive, industrial-scale operation that looks like it's preparing to launch the next space mission—except it's roller coasters, which might be even cooler.

Meanwhile, Legoland California Resort President Kurt Stocks teased that this will be the park's first indoor roller coaster in two decades. "This isn’t just a ride. It’ll be an exploration unlike any other," said Stocks. He also emphasized sparing no expense to create a highly innovative, interactive, and captivating experience. For a theme park staple like Legoland, that’s a big promise. Let’s hope it’s more "exploration" and less "waiting in line for hours."

In addition to these groundbreaking coasters, Legoland Florida is gearing up to open Sea Life Florida on May 23. This new aquarium attraction will feature thousands of sea creatures and 25 interactive exhibits, allowing kids to touch the animals. It sounds like a win-win for families who love both thrills and marine life.

Leading up to the coasters' grand opening, exclusive hints and sneak peeks will be shared on Legoland Florida and California’s social media channels and websites. If you're a Lego superfan, you might want to start stalking their feeds now.

There's something audacious about a $90 million investment in theme park rides, and I love it. Legoland is clearly betting big on these coasters, and the hype machine is in full swing. The question is: will they truly deliver on 'unparalleled' thrills? Or are we getting a very fancy, Lego-themed merry-go-round? Time will tell, but I'm rooting for the former. Also, I secretly love that they’re giving us sneak peeks—it’s like dropping breadcrumbs for the theme park-obsessed.
