Manhunt for Killer and Serial Escapee Intensifies After New Orleans Jailbreak

The hunt for two dangerous escapees from the Orleans Justice Center jailbreak on May 16 intensifies as Derrick Groves and Antoine Massey remain at large nearly two weeks later. Groves, convicted of a double homicide during 2018’s Mardi Gras and facing sentencing for manslaughter, slipped out alongside Massey, a serial escapee with a knack for dodging custody. Massey, awaiting trial for domestic abuse and parole violations, has a history of cutting ankle monitors and outwitting authorities, making his first-floor cell placement a baffling oversight.
