Mya Lesnar, daughter of Brock Lesnar, wins NCAA Division I women’s shot put title with a dominant 19.01-meter throw, continuing her family’s athletic legacy.
Mya Lesnar, daughter of WWE icon and former UFC champ Brock Lesnar, hurled her way to glory, clinching the NCAA Division I women’s shot put championship on Friday. The Colorado State senior’s first throw soared an impressive 19.01 meters (62 feet, 4.5 inches), leaving competitors in the dust—none even breached the 62-foot mark. This victory marks her first outdoor track and field title, adding to her 2023-24 indoor championship.
Lesnar’s season has been a masterclass in power and precision. Earlier, she unleashed a career-best throw of 19.60 meters (64 feet, 3.75 inches), ranking as the seventh-longest women’s throw globally this year. Despite a fourth-place finish at nationals earlier this season, her relentless drive and Mountain West championship win fueled her comeback. “It was pretty cool,” Lesnar said post-meet. “Throws like that don’t happen often. Starting strong meant everything.”
A three-time All-Mountain West honoree for both indoor and outdoor seasons, Lesnar also claimed the conference’s weight throw title in 2023-24. Her triumph echoes her father’s legacy, who dominated wrestling at the University of Minnesota, winning a national championship in 2000 before conquering WWE and UFC. Mya’s victory isn’t just a win—it’s a testament to the Lesnar family’s raw athletic prowess.
