Baltimore Ravens address sexual misconduct allegations against kicker Justin Tucker. Team president Sashi Brown discusses ongoing investigation, Tucker's denial, and commitment to thorough process.
Baltimore Ravens President Sashi Brown spoke on Sunday about the allegations against their star kicker, Justin Tucker, during the NFL's annual meeting. The All-Pro kicker has been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple massage therapists, allegations that surfaced earlier this year.
In a public statement to OutKick, Tucker denied the claims, expressing his devastation at the accusations. "It devastates me to know that anyone I have worked with would not have felt respected and valued as a professional, but more importantly as a person," he stated, adding an apology to anyone who might have felt otherwise.
Brown addressed the investigation process, emphasizing its complexity and the necessity of thoroughness. "These investigations take time," he explained, acknowledging the frustration this might cause for all parties involved. He highlighted the societal challenges surrounding such allegations, particularly the courage it takes for women to come forward.
"From our standpoint, we want to make sure we have a great understanding of the facts, hear both sides, and allow the investigation to be properly conducted," said Brown. He reiterated the team's commitment to making decisions based on complete and accurate information.
The Ravens have maintained communication with the NFL during this ongoing investigation. Brown noted that having multiple investigations simultaneously "would not be fair to anybody involved, including those who have made allegations."
The allegations against Tucker involve claims from 16 massage therapists, who accuse him of inappropriate behavior at various massage parlors between 2012 and 2016. The Baltimore Banner initially broke the story, which has since garnered significant attention.
While Tucker continues to deny the allegations, his statement reflects a commitment to ensuring respectful interactions in the future. "I want you to know I am committed to ensuring that everyone I interact with continues to feel that I respect them and care about them as a human being," said Tucker.
The NFL and the Ravens have yet to announce a timeline for the investigation’s conclusion, leaving fans and stakeholders waiting for more clarity on the matter.

The Ravens President’s comments about societal issues surrounding misconduct allegations were refreshingly candid. It’s rare to see someone in his position acknowledge the broader context of these claims. That said, the investigation's drawn-out nature is bound to frustrate fans, not to mention the individuals involved. It feels like this story will linger in the NFL’s spotlight for a while.
