Rogan and Musk Question Media's Silence on DOGE's Tax Dollar Pursuit

Joe Rogan and Elon Musk recently took aim at the mainstream media, wondering why there wasn't more "celebration" surrounding the government's efforts to tackle wasteful spending through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

During a recent episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience," the podcast host and Musk discussed the media's apparent resistance to DOGE, which was established last month by President Trump with Musk at its helm. Rogan emphasized, "Everybody should be celebrating that we’ve found a way to cut out fraud and waste. If you pay taxes and you don’t like that you have to pay so much in taxes and then you find out that there’s significant fraud and waste that’s been exposed, you should be celebrating it."

Since its inception, DOGE has set its sights on various federal agencies, including USAID, HHS, the Department of Education, HUD, the U.S. Treasury, and the IRS. The department claims to have identified billions in misallocated and wasted funds. This has, unsurprisingly, ruffled feathers among Democrats and the mainstream media, particularly concerning DOGE's initiatives to reduce the federal workforce through layoffs and contract cancellations.

Musk's involvement has drawn criticism, with some labeling him incompetent and questioning the legality and constitutionality of his role. However, Musk maintains that his actions are essential to prevent America from going "bankrupt."

Rogan suggested that opposition to DOGE might be driven by partisan motives. "This shouldn’t be, ‘Oh no! The wrong people found this fact and now it’s a bad thing,'" he stated, with Musk echoing his sentiment.

Rogan then criticized USAID, accusing it of promoting propaganda through its name and highlighting its spending on unusual projects. "And then there’s the propaganda – the mindf--- of calling it USAID, instead of the United States Agency for International Development. It sounds like it’s feeding hungry people."

Editor's Comments

It's always fascinating to see figures like Rogan and Musk, who operate outside traditional media, questioning the establishment. Whether DOGE's approach is the right one is up for debate, but it's hard to argue against the need for government efficiency. I mean, who's against saving a few bucks, right?
