Seth Curry shares empathy for Bronny James navigating NBA pressures as sons of legends, reflecting on their unique challenges, expectations, and personal journeys both on and off the court.

Seth Curry, guard for the Charlotte Hornets, knows the weight of expectations all too well. As the son of NBA veteran Dell Curry and the younger brother of Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, Seth has lived under the shadow of basketball royalty for most of his life. And now, he sees a similar spotlight shining on Bronny James, rookie guard for the Los Angeles Lakers and son of NBA legend LeBron James.

Bronny's basketball journey has been scrutinized from a young age. Starting with standout performances in AAU leagues and continuing through his tenure at Sierra Canyon High School, Bronny faced comparisons to his father long before stepping onto an NBA court. His freshman year at USC in 2023-24 was marred by a cardiac arrest scare and an underwhelming season with the Trojans, yet he declared for the NBA Draft. The Lakers, unsurprisingly, picked him up in the second round, pairing him with his iconic dad.

Life in the NBA hasn't been easy for Bronny. He's had limited playing time in 21 games this season and struggled with consistency, shooting just 26.3% from the field and an even shakier 22.7% from beyond the arc. The pressure of being LeBron's son is undeniably unique, and Seth Curry empathizes with Bronny's situation.

"I definitely feel for him," Seth shared during a conversation with Fox News Digital. "He’s just going out there, working hard, trying to be the best player he can be. Whatever the media and fans do with it, they do with it. He’s his own person. He’s trying to go out there and make the best career for himself." Seth remains optimistic about Bronny's future, believing that "a little more reps and confidence" could help him find his stride in the league.

Yet, as Seth astutely pointed out, growing up under the gaze of basketball fans brings both benefits and burdens. "There’s two sides to the coin," he noted. "You can ask questions and see the process of how someone like LeBron achieved greatness. But those expectations? They’ve been there for your whole life." For Bronny, this isn't just a rookie year challenge — it's been a lifelong balancing act.

Seth also touched on his own experiences, drawing parallels between his journey and Bronny’s. "I’m sure he’s used to it," Seth remarked, reflecting on the constant comparisons and pressure that come with having a famous parent.

Off the court, Seth has another passion during March Madness season: cooking. Partnering with Bush’s Beans for their "Your Fam on a Can" campaign, Seth has been introducing fans to "Curry Caviar," a healthy snack his wife, Callie Rivers (daughter of NBA coach Doc Rivers), introduced to their family. "It’s honestly something we make in our house every year around this time. It’s healthy, and you can snack on it all day for a week straight," Seth said, adding a personal touch to his basketball-centric lifestyle.

While Bronny continues to navigate the ups and downs of NBA life, Seth’s perspective offers a supportive and understanding take. And who knows? Maybe some "Curry Caviar" is just what Bronny needs to keep pushing forward.

Seth Curry's empathy for Bronny James is refreshing in a league often dominated by rivalries and comparisons. It's fascinating how Seth connects his own journey with Bronny's, highlighting the double-edged sword of growing up in the shadow of basketball greatness. And honestly, the idea of Curry Caviar during March Madness? Genius marketing move — who wouldn’t snack their way through the tournament with that kind of wholesome family vibe?
