Thunder rally past Pacers 111-104 in Game 4 of NBA Finals, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 35 points, tying series 2-2.
In a heart-pounding Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Oklahoma City Thunder staged a dramatic fourth-quarter rally to defeat the Indiana Pacers 111-104, knotting the series at 2-2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder’s superstar, ignited the comeback with 15 of his 35 points in the final frame, including a clutch nine-point burst that sealed the deal.
The Pacers came out swinging, dropping 20 points in under five minutes to start the game, a rare early stumble for OKC’s defense. They held a nine-point lead early, but the Thunder refused to let the game slip away. Tensions flared in the second quarter when Obi Toppin and Lu Dort exchanged Flagrant 1 fouls, adding some spice to an already intense matchup. Indiana’s 15-6 run before halftime gave them a slim 60-57 edge.
Late in the third, Toppin’s thunderous baseline dunk pushed the Pacers’ lead to 86-76, their first double-digit advantage of the series. But OKC roared back with a 13-3 run to tie it at 89 in the fourth. The game seesawed—tied at 91, 95, and 97—before Gilgeous-Alexander’s silky step-back jumper with 2:23 left gave the Thunder their first lead of the second half, 104-103. They never looked back.
Jalen Williams chipped in 27 points, Alex Caruso added 20, and Chet Holmgren delivered 14 points and 15 rebounds. Remarkably, OKC pulled off the win with just three 3-pointers and zero assists from their MVP. For Indiana, Pascal Siakam led with 20 points, followed by Tyrese Haliburton with 18 and Toppin with 17.
With home-court advantage back in their grasp, the Thunder head to Oklahoma City for Game 5 on Monday night, ready to keep the momentum rolling in this electrifying series.
