Tiger Woods cheered as his daughter Sam helped The Benjamin School win its first-ever Florida state girls' soccer championship, highlighting a proud family moment.

Tiger Woods, a name synonymous with greatness on the golf course, switched roles over the weekend as he cheered from the stands for his daughter, Sam Woods, during her high school soccer championship game. And what a game it was.

Sam and her varsity team at The Benjamin School clinched the Florida 2A FHSAA state championship after a thrilling 1-0 victory against the Episcopal School of Jacksonville at Spec Martin Stadium on Saturday. It marked a historic moment as the school celebrated its first-ever girls' soccer title.

The buzz wasn't just about the scoreboard. The proud father-daughter moment became the highlight when Woods was seen embracing Sam after the hard-fought win. Woods, along with other families in the stands, erupted in cheers as the team brought home the title. It’s not every day you see a golf legend screaming in joy on the sidelines of a soccer match.

Sam Woods, playing as a defender, proved her mettle by helping keep the opposing team off the scoreboard. Benjamin School’s head coach Hillary Carney emphasized the importance of the defensive line, saying, "The defense really led the team all year. It was a matter of keeping the door shut and not letting them score, knowing we would get one, maybe two. So it was really the stalwart defense leading the way with Emily [Simon] being in goal and Sam being that senior in the back just settling everything."

The game’s lone goal came from freshman Emma Bartoli, sealing the championship in dramatic style. For Sam, it was the storybook ending to her senior season, especially considering the team had only won four regular-season games before making a red-hot playoff run to reach the finals.

Sam is set to continue her academic journey at Stanford University in the fall, following in her father’s footsteps. Tiger Woods famously attended Stanford for two years before launching his legendary career on the PGA Tour.

Sam’s younger brother, Charlie Woods, is also making waves at The Benjamin School. He stars on the men’s golf team, which claimed the Florida High School Athletic Association Class A state championship in 2023 — a feat even his dad never achieved during his high school career. Clearly, winning is in the Woods family DNA.

As for Tiger Woods himself, his next PGA Tour start remains uncertain. For now, he seems to be fully embracing his role as a proud and emotional father, soaking in the achievements of his talented children.

Okay, let’s take a moment to appreciate this: Tiger Woods, one of the greatest golfers in history, losing his voice cheering for his daughter on a soccer field. If that’s not the ultimate ‘proud dad’ moment, I don’t know what is. Also, can we talk about how this family has apparently cornered the market on being champions? What do they have for breakfast — trophies?
