Trump visits Texas flood sites after 120 deaths, meets Netanyahu for ceasefire talks, and addresses Musk’s new party and Putin’s rhetoric.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump wrapped up a busy week with a poignant visit to Kerrville, Texas, on Friday, following catastrophic floods that claimed over 120 lives in the region. The Guadalupe River’s sudden surge of more than 22 feet left a trail of devastation, with over 160 people still missing in Kerr County. At a roundtable with local officials and first responders, Trump expressed the nation’s heartbreak, stating, "Americans' hearts are shattered. We're filled with grief and devastation." He highlighted the tragic loss of at least 27 campers and counselors from Camp Mystic, a nearly century-old Christian summer camp for girls, offering solace with words of faith.

Earlier in the week, Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, marking their third meeting during his current term. With tensions high in the Middle East, Trump hinted at progress toward a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, telling reporters, "We're getting very close to a deal." His focus remains on securing peace and the safe return of hostages, a priority he underscored with determination.

Amid domestic and international challenges, Trump also addressed Elon Musk’s proposal for a new "America Party" during a Cabinet meeting, dismissing concerns about political competition with characteristic confidence. On the international front, he voiced frustration over Russian President Vladimir Putin’s empty promises regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine, signaling a shift in tone.

Through it all, Trump’s commitment to supporting Texas in the wake of unimaginable loss stood out. "My administration’s doing everything in its power to help," he assured, as the nation mourns and the search for the missing continues.

Well, folks, Trump’s week was like a political triathlon—floods in Texas, ceasefire talks with Netanyahu, and dodging Musk’s third-party curveball. I half-expected him to challenge Putin to a wrestling match over all that ‘bull’ he’s been throwing. And speaking of Texas, Mother Nature pulled a fast one with that river surge—22 feet in hours? Even the Guadalupe’s saying, ‘Hold my beer!’ Let’s hope the ceasefire deal sticks before we’re all underwater, figuratively or literally.
