Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal feud heats up after 'It Ends with Us' premiere, involving harassment claims, defamation lawsuits, and a trial set for 2026.
Hollywood is buzzing over the fierce legal clash between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, two stars thrust into an off-screen drama that’s just as intense as any blockbuster. The saga, which kicked off after their film adaptation of "It Ends with Us" premiered last summer, has snowballed into a celebrity standoff that people can’t stop talking about.
At first, the focus was on the film's message about overcoming abusive relationships. But as the press tour rolled on, fans noticed Lively seemed more fixated on style tips than the serious themes of the story. Cue the rumors: soon after, Lively filed an official complaint against Baldoni with the California Civil Rights Department, accusing him of sexual harassment and retaliation. Baldoni shot back, claiming the allegations were a ploy to fix her image after allegedly dominating the movie’s production. Things escalated when Baldoni filed his own lawsuit this January, seeking a jaw-dropping $400 million from Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, over defamation and civil extortion claims.
The public has definitely picked sides in what’s become Hollywood’s equivalent of a gladiator match. Zack Peter, host of the "No Filter" podcast, told Fox News Digital that the fascination is about more than just the big names involved. "Culturally, we love a takedown story," he said, adding that it’s not just fatigue with Hollywood—it’s the thrill of watching two powerful forces collide. According to Peter, Lively and Reynolds are seen as the reigning "it" couple, while Baldoni is cast as the underdog challenging the Hollywood establishment.
Peter frames the feud as a modern-day David vs. Goliath, with Baldoni representing the scrappy outsider against a celebrity power couple. He pointed out that people seem eager to see Hollywood elites get their comeuppance, especially as trust in PR tactics and media spin continues to erode. "We've met Oz, and now, at this point, we don't want to be lied to anymore," he said, calling for accountability from stars who flex their influence a little too freely.
With both Lively and Baldoni digging in and refusing to settle, this courtroom drama isn’t wrapping up anytime soon. The next major act? A trial set for March 2026. If nothing else, Hollywood sure knows how to keep the popcorn popping.

You know it’s a true Hollywood spectacle when the backstage drama outshines the movie itself. If I had a dollar for every celebrity feud described as 'David vs. Goliath,' I’d have a few more zeros in my bank account—though not quite Baldoni-lawsuit level. Still, watching the public root for the underdog while Hollywood’s golden couple gets knocked down a peg? That’s entertainment.
