A Cirrus SR22 plane dramatically bounced during landing at Tampa International Airport but safely landed on its second attempt, with no injuries or emergency response required.

A jaw-dropping moment unfolded at Tampa International Airport when a small red Cirrus SR22 propeller plane dramatically bounced on the runway during its attempt to land. Captured on video, the incident had spectators on edge as the plane bobbed up and down, seemingly defying gravity – albeit not in the smoothest way.

The flight, arriving from the Myrtle Beach area on March 27, was filmed by Steven Markovich, who was at the airport recording an aviation show. In the footage, a voice is heard exclaiming, "Bouncing, bouncing, oh no! Don’t crash! Holy c---," perfectly summarizing the collective anxiety of anyone witnessing the scene.

Markovich later explained, "Immediately upon touching down, the aircraft began to bounce several times. Wisely, the pilot aborted the landing and did a go-around. Second time was a perfect landing." Talk about redemption – the second attempt was as smooth as butter.

Emily Nipps, a spokesperson for Tampa International Airport, described the event as a common maneuver in aviation called a "go-around." She reassured the public that this is neither unusual nor unsafe. "We don’t have any information about the plane or its pilot/passengers, and no emergency response was activated on the day the video was posted," she added. Translation: no harm, no foul.

Meanwhile, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed it had no report on the matter, further underlining that this wasn’t a cause for alarm.

The video concludes with the plane safely touching down on its second attempt, accompanied by a relieved voice stating, "Second time was a charm." Whoever said aviation stories can’t have happy endings?

You’ve got to hand it to the pilot for keeping their cool and pulling off a textbook go-around after such a shaky start. While it’s reassuring to know this isn’t an uncommon event, I’d bet the spectators were holding their breath until that second landing. Also, can we talk about how the phrase "Second time was a charm" might as well be the motto for anyone who’s ever struggled with anything – relatable to a T!
